ArtStar is an online platform for discovering and collecting the best contemporary art. ArtStar is looking for a Summer Research Intern focused on client prospecting from the residential, corporate, hospitality, campus housing, and multi-family segments of the design industry.
The internship will offer real-world experience in market research and will offer close collaboration with leading design firms. The position requires 3 days a week of remote work. Summer Interns will work directly with ArtStar’s staff and Social Media team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
– Canvas and researching prospective clients. Creating a detailed spreadsheet of findings to be reviewed with ArtStar’s staff.
– Working on AI-led customer prospecting.
– Update ArtStar’s client database.
– Craft outreach emails to developers and design firms.
– Research and present prospective influencers in the design space to the Social Media Team. – Upload new designer information into Arternal.
– Reporting directly to the Founders.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Intern will present a Summer Project at the end of the internship. They will pitch their Project idea to the team, develop it over the summer, and present it at the end of the internship. The Intern will receive critical feedback and peer reviews. The goal is to give them a refined Project and deck to take to their next job interview. The Intern will take ownership over Project and learn first-hand what it is like to work for a New York ecommerce gallery. Work on the Project is to be done after hours and is not part of the paid Internship at ArtStar.

QUALIFICATIONS
– Currently in college or graduate school.
– Art History, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Design, English, or Business majors preferred.
– Previous work experience is a plus.
This internship is open to SMU Art History, CCPA, Journalism, MA/MBA, MMIAM, MADI, English, or Business majors.
Priority consideration will be given to all applications from SMU Art History majors and pre-majors received by Friday, February 23. If more applications are needed at that point, this opportunity will be opened to all SMU students with a priority consideration deadline of Monday, March 4. The final deadline for submissions is Friday, March 8.
