The semester is winding down, and the SMU award season has begun. Earlier this month, scores of CCPA students were acknowledged and honored at the division’s annual CCPA New Majors Induction and Senior Awards Ceremony.

The Caroline M. Jones Memorial Scholarship was established as an endowed scholarship honoring Miss Caroline M. Jones, a staff member who served SMU for over 30 years. Miss. Jones served under three Deans during her time at SMU. The winner of this scholarship will receive a $10,000 to be used toward tuition, fees, room and board. The award will be issued over the course of one year; half awarded in fall 2024 and the remainder in spring 2025*.
Attention all SMU public relations and strategic communication majors! If you want to break into the public relations industry, make sure to attend SMU PRSSA’s kickoff meeting on Thursday, February 22nd, at 6:00 PM in Hughes-Trigg, room 209. The semester’s kickoff event is a resume workshop in partnership with the Hegi Career Center.

My name is Katrina Anderson and I am a senior CCPA Fellow on the PRSC track. I am seeking a second major in Applied Physiology and Sport Management and a CCPA minor. As a CCPA student, I have found an affinity for organizational and internal communication. When presented with an opportunity to attend the National Communication Association (NCA) Convention to participate in the Research Escalator, I jumped at the chance.
