Attention CCPA majors, it’s officially scholarship season! If you’re a full-time 2022-23 CCPA student and interested in earning a scholarship to help fund your studies, keep reading for more information!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Application Deadline: March 24th (firm deadline)
- Send completed application materials as a PDF to Mrs. Hewitt at rhewitt@smu.edu by the firm deadline date of 5pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022
- Scholarship interviews are required as part of the application process and will take place via 20 minute online Zoom sessions or in person on Wednesday/ Thursday, March 29-30, 2021
- Scholarship announcement date: Thursday, April 28 at the CCPA award ceremony (attendance is mandatory for scholarship recipients)
- When applying for a scholarship through this common application, student’s have the potential to receive funds from the CCPA Advisory Board, Douglas Bauer Incentive, Stan Levenson, and the CCPA Prize for Excellence.
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit/achievement, potential for excellence in the communication field, and financial need.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
In order to be considered for any scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:
- Full-time, declared CCPA major with minimum 3.000 cumulative GPA (GPA exceptions may be granted for Douglas Bauer Incentive Awards).
- Completed minimum of 30 hours and cannot be a graduating senior in May or August of the calendar year application.
- Application filed by deadline above and completion of a scholarship interview.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Completed application form endorsed by a CCPA faculty member.
- Copy of current financial overview sheet from my.smu.edu
- Current DPR and resume.
- 1-2 page essay addressed to the CCPA Advisory Board Selection Committee.
