SMU recently received a grant to propel SMU toward becoming a smoke, vape and tobacco free campus. This grant runs now through the end of the 2023-24 academic year. We are looking for a student to help with marketing and campaign development for our initiative. Below are some details.
A little bit about you – You:
- think creatively to both engage students and problem solve
- have an understanding that justice, equity, diversity and inclusion work is important to the wellbeing of the campus community
- are responsible and follows through on tasks and commitments
- want to leave a mark on SMU
- will be a student through graduation 2024
Your role includes:
- being part of a national cohort of campuses working on similar policies and attending trainings and meetings as scheduled
- planning and implementing events to educate students about the smoke, vape and tobacco free policy
- leading the marketing/social media effort to move campus toward a smoke, vape and tobacco free policy
- hosting student focus groups
Details of the position:
- 5 hours per week during the academic year with an additional 8 weeks over summer and/or winter breaks
- Compensation is $10/hour
