Welcome to the Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility! Our Center is conveniently located in McFarlin Auditorium and serves as a university-wide center that supports student and faculty ethics-related education and activities. The Center seeks to recognize, honor and model ethical behavior; provide moral reflection on the contemporary issues; and celebrate ethics that reflect SMU’s fundamental goals.
Job Duties:
The student worker is an important part of the Maguire Ethics Center team and will assist the center staff with office duties and activities. The position is responsible for various administrative tasks such as, answering telephones and filing correspondence, managing social media accounts, and assisting with Center programming. Additionally, the position will complete special projects and other duties as assigned, including planning, and attending university events as a representative of the Center and managing databases. This position can be highly customizable to your interests and strengths.
Successful candidates will display the following qualities:

· Able to work independently with moderate supervision
· Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and popular web browsers
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· An interest in ethics and public responsibility
· Willingness to learn new programs and skills such as the Adobe Creative Suite and SMU’s website content management system
Qualifications:
· Must be a currently enrolled, full-time SMU student
· Minimum 2.5 GPA
· Able to work a minimum of 8-10 hours per week (no weekends required). Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
