The Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy seeks a full-time Director of Operations and Business Development. The Frances Clark Center is a not-for-profit educational institution (501c3) located in Kingston, New Jersey. It supports the professional field by providing the highest quality resources and programs that advance piano teaching, learning, performing, and research. The Center advances its goals and serves local, national, and international communities through its divisions: The New School for Music Study, National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, Piano Education Press, Online Education, and Piano Magazine.
Description:
The Director of Operations and Business Development manages and coordinates operations for the divisions. This leadership position oversees operations of all divisions including event planning, conference management, project management, e-commerce, marketing, and related operations and logistics. The position reports to the CEO-Executive Director and works with the senior management team and full staff. The position does not require residency in New Jersey.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess or demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree, ideally an MBA, or equivalent experience is preferred
- Extensive experience with organizational operations, including conference event management, publications, and staff management
- Understanding of the arts/music/education field
- Demonstrated experience with a history of job growth and advancement within non-profit and/or arts-related organizations
- Knowledge of current and emerging technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with strategic planning and proven record of new business development, including sales, marketing, and e-commerce
- Experience with fundraising with grant writing an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Operations
- Oversee operations of divisions, including fiscal accountability, staff, and strategic objectives
- Manage administrative operations
- Analyze, interpret, and report on financial data, analytics, KPIs
- Innovate internal work processes for maximum efficiency
- Support technology development
- Manage the operations and logistics of the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP)
Business Development
- Identify and develop new markets
- Support growth of the brand, reach and impact
- Advance the e-commerce strategy
- Expand industry partnerships and advertising
- Support grant applications
- Support the implementation of successful fundraising campaigns
Sales and Marketing
- Develop an annual marketing plan
- Increase sales in all divisions
- Manage marketing communications and sales initiatives
- Expand institutional and individual sales
Salary:
