Are you studying communications but haven’t decided which area you’d like to work in? Join SMU PRSSA in welcoming Darian Taylor, Saniha Aziz, and Brownlee Hopkins for its communications alumni panel on November 11th at 7 p.m. The event will take place in Umphrey Lee 241. Students will have the opportunity to address the speakers with questions to explore more about the fields of agency, corporate, government, and financial communications.
Meet the Speakers
The speakers joining are proud members of the Meadows Mentor program. They continue to give back to the SMU community as they excel in the real world. Darian Taylor graduated from SMU in 2020 and served as the student body president in his senior year. He finished with a double major in CCPA and Public Policy, leading him to become an analyst at TrailRunner International. Today, Taylor is a Senior Consultant for PR and Communications for small business initiatives at AT&T. Darian’s rich experiences in financial and corporate communications are impressive, and his insight will be invaluable to students interested in similar fields!
Saniha Aziz graduated from SMU in 2019 with a B.A. in Journalism and a B.B.A. in Finance. On campus, she was involved in many organizations, including SMU Look and SMU TV. After graduating, Saniha pursued her Master of Science in Applied Economics and Predictive Analytics at SMU. In 2018, she spent her summer working as a Communications Analyst at The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. She has now spent six years there and is a Communications Advisor today. For those interested in economics, government, and financial communications, you won’t want to miss Saniha!
Brownlee Hopkins graduated from SMU in 2017 with a double major in Public Relations and Strategic Communication and Organizational Communication Studies. While at SMU, Brownlee completed many internships, starting as a marketing intern at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Following this experience, she worked as a Marketing and Events intern at Modern Luxury and finally as a Client Services Intern at Weber Shandwick. Since graduating, Brownlee has worked at Jackson Spalding as a Public Relations Specialist. Students looking to explore careers in agency communications will greatly benefit from this chance to learn more about Brownlee’s experience!
