Congratulations are in order, it is a pleasure to announce several noteworthy developments: The esteemed 2024 Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards have named Restorative Farms a finalist. This honor is presented by D CEO, sponsored by Capital One, and in association with the Communities Foundation of Texas.

Restorative Farms

Restorative Farms, co-founded by SMU communication professors Owen Lynch and Doric Earle, seeks to establish a self-sustaining urban agricultural system to address the community’s lack of access to fresh food and job possibilities. Restorative Farms helps the community by creating GroBoxes, growing and selling local vegetables, and offering worthwhile jobs and training in farming and entrepreneurship. They aim to spur local economic growth and advance environmental and health fairness. Motivated by restorative justice, they help to reduce poverty and resource depletion by supplying reasonably priced produce, supporting local farmers financially, and creating routes out of poverty.
