The SMU Meadows Spring Dance Concert is right around the corner, running April 2–6, 2025 — 8:00 PM Wednesday through Saturday, and 2:00 PM on Sunday at the Bob Hope Theater at Southern Methodist University. It promises to be a celebration of movement, music, and artistic mastery. Hosted by the SMU Meadows Division of Dance, this annual performance highlights the strength and versatility of the BFA dance program, offering audiences a rich blend of classical and contemporary works performed by the university’s talented dancers.
This year’s SMU Meadows Spring Dance Concert features a powerful mixed-repertoire lineup that spans the full range of the division’s triple-track training: ballet, modern, and jazz. Audiences can expect three standout works:
Each of these pieces reflects the wide-ranging technical and stylistic foundation dancers receive at SMU, making the SMU Meadows Spring Dance Concert a true showcase of the program’s commitment to developing dynamic, adaptable artists.
We’re especially proud to spotlight Chloe Young, a senior majoring in Dance Performance and also pursuing a degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communications. She will be performing in Concerto Barocco, with her cast taking the stage on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Chloe invites fellow students, faculty, and community members to come out and show their support. Earlier this month, she appeared on the Meadows on the Mic podcast, where she shared her journey—from discovering her love for dance as a child, to choosing SMU Meadows, and her plans for life after graduation. The 2025 SMU Meadows Spring Dance Concert also marks the final concert under the leadership of Professor Christopher Dolder, who has served as Chair of the Division of Dance for the past six years. While he’ll continue to teach, his guidance and leadership will be warmly remembered by students and faculty alike.
Whether you’re a regular supporter or someone just discovering the arts at SMU, the SMU Meadows Spring Dance Concert is not to be missed. It’s a celebration of talent, hard work, and the artistic spirit that thrives at Meadows!
