Where to Enjoy Independence Day in D-FW

If you are in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for the upcoming July 4th holiday, here are some ideas to get out and about. Starting tomorrow, July 1st, towns all around the area are hosting pyrotechnics, parades and festivals. Continue reading to find out where you can go to partake in the fun.

Dallas area

• July 1st
  • Farmers Branch offers roaming characters, airbrush tatoos, balloon artists, food vendors and live music. The festival will end with a firewords show at Farmers Branch Historical Park. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for residents with a Firecracker Fast Pass, and $5 for nonresidents.
• July 2nd
  • Dallas Arboretum will offer live music, animal encounters, food and drinks, garden blooms, and art over a weekend-long celebration, July 2-4. Price is included with garden admission.
  • Klyde Warren Park, the downtown Dallas deck park is offering an evening of live music, family activities, and fireworks.
  • Richardson has Four Bullets Brewery. Every year the brewery throws the Red, White and Brews party with $5 pints all day, hot dogs from TJ’s Dawg House and live music. Event is from 5 to 8 p.m. Bring a pop-up tent or umbrella and to setup in the brewery’s back lot and make sure to decorate to win prizes.
• July 3rd
  • Addison Kaboom Town festival and fireworks show features live bands, food and beverage booths, and the classic warbirds airshow flyover.
  • Frisco Fredom Fest kicks off on Simpson Plaza at Frisco Square with the Hotter ‘n Firecrackers Glow Run and Dachshund Dash. The celebration continues on July 4th with the Party on the Plaza which will incude a children’s expo, games, carnival rides, a car and motorcycle show, the Taste of Frisco, and a vendors village. Fireworks will take place after the FC Dallas game at Toyota Stadium. Party on the Plaza is free, but there is a fee for the July 3rd events.
  • Lone Star Park offers attendess to stay after the thoroughbrd horse races on July 3-4 for a 20-minute fireworks show choreographed to music.
• July 4th
  • Fair Park Fourth returns after a two-year hiatus. The day starts with family-friendly activities throughout the day and caps off with fireworks from the Botton Bowl after dark. Admissions is free with a $10 parking fee to park on the Fair Park lots. Check out the Fair Park Fourth website to read about all of the activities.
  • Old City Park hosts an Old-Fashioned Fourth event including an All-Join-In-Parage, Victorian games, a tiny train, food trucks, and free Kina Ice treats. Admissions is $10-$20, kids 4 and younger free.
  • Park Cities area will have decorated wagons parade and bikes are welcome to participate. Parade starts at 9 a.m. at Highland Park Town Hall and ends at Goar Park. Admission is free.
  • Plano will have pre-fireworks fun at the All-American 4th on the north parking lot of Collin College. Enjoy the static parade floads, a free kids zone, food, drinks and a vendors market. Gates open at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Fort Worth area

• July 1st
  • Hurst will host their Stars and Stripes celebration at Husrt Community Park. The event will feature music by the Big City Outlaws and Emerald City. There will be food vendors, and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Free admissions and free shuttle service from North East Mall.
• July 2nd
  • The Colony will host the LIberty by the Lake festival which opens at 6 p.m. The Colony Five Star Complex will have a kids zone, concerts and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. Check their website to get more details and see which bands are performing.
  • Lake Cities (Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores) co-host a party at Lake Dallas City Park. Parade starts at 9 a.m. followed by fun contests, food trucks and music starting at 4f p.m. Fireworks display to begin around 9 p.m. Admission is free.
• July 3rd
  • Fort Worth Sympnony Concerts in the Garden will perform patriotic concerts on July 3rd and 4th in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, followed by fireworks. $25-$78.
  • Arlington will host the Light Up Arlington festival in downtown Arlington. It is a day of family adventures, food, live music on multiple stages and fireworks at 9:50 p.m. Then on July 4th, head back to downtown for the city’s Independence Day Parade at 9 a.m.
  • Southlake Stars and Stripes festival at Southlake Town Square starts at 3 p.m. There will be seating and entertainment at Frank Edgar Cornish IV Park, McPherson Park and Rustin Pavilion. Admission is free and there is a free shuttle from the White’s Chapel United Methodist Church or Gateway Church.
• July 4th
  • Fort Worth’s Fourth festival is along the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island. Pavilion will include live music, food, drinks, kids activities, and fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. The swimming area opens at 6 p.m., bring your own tubes to float until 8 p.m. Admission is free with paid parking in surrounding lots.
  • Grapevine has thier July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza shooting over Grapevine Lake. It can be enjoyed from many of the lakeside parks or from the Gaylord Texan Resort or Great Wolf Lodge. Check their website for a list of favorite viewing spots and the admission fees for each area.
  • Irving will host the cities Sparks and Stripes Independence Day celebration with a morning parage and free watermelon reception in the Heritage District. At 6 p.m. there will be live music, rides, games and food vendors at Levy Event Plaza. A fireworks and water show on Lake Carolyn is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. Free shuttle service from Toyota Music Factory is available to the plaza. Free admission.
