The AAPI Symposium is back! All CCPA are invited to attend the 3rd Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander Voices in Higher Education Annual Symposium here at SMU on May 4, 2026, from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM in Frances Anne Moody Hall (the new graduate school building on Airline Rd.).

Centered on this year’s theme, Leadership and Representation, the symposium brings together multidisciplinary scholars, students, educators, and practitioners for a dynamic day of dialogue and community engagement. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Mitchell J. Chang (University of California, Los Angeles), a nationally recognized scholar whose work has significantly shaped conversations on access, inclusion, and faculty representation in higher education. While focusing on AAPI experiences, the program is designed to resonate broadly, offering valuable perspectives and practical guidance for expanding access and advancing leadership opportunities for diverse communities. This event is part of the AAPI Heritage Month celebration at SMU and is open to all faculty, staff, students, and community members, free of charge. Attendees are welcome to participate in any or all sessions.
