With summer getting closer and closer to an end, now is the time to take a day trip or three before getting back into work mode. We made it easier for you and researched where to go and what to do. Here are some of our favorites to get you started. You only have to decide which direction you want to go. north, south, east, or west.
CCPA Fellows serve by invitation and are at the center of the SMU CCPA communication. They devise and create content for SMUCCPA.com, both pages, and blog posts, including posting all-important internship and job opportunities. Often you will see them “takeover” SMU CCPA’s social media channels. Their diligent work brings important information and lots of fun to SMUCCPA.com. Make sure you subscribe to receive emails from CCPA so you don’t miss a single blog post.
Bachman Lake Together is a Dallas-based organization that brings programs, partners, and resources to the Bachman Lake community, with a special focus on families with children under age 5. They help families access early education, become parent leaders, support overall well-being and engage the community.
It’s officially midsummer and the mustangs are out for vacation, giving students and faculty alike a well-deserved break from classes. But that leaves some of us wondering: how we should spend our free time? Luckily the solution is simple, summer reading, and we’re not talking textbooks.
The Intersessions office’s mission is to provide support for SMU students and faculty participating in Intersessions courses (Jan Term, May Term, June-July Sessions). Intersessions student workers assist with student recruiting, social media, website maintenance, event staffing, and other communications with students, faculty, and staff. With this position, there may be an opportunity for Summer employment (though this is not required).
