We are thrilled to share that Dr. Rita Kirk has been selected to serve as an evaluator for the “Democracy, Governance, and Trust” (DGT) initiative, representing the National Science Foundation for the Trans-Atlantic Platform for Humanities and Social Sciences (T-AP). This groundbreaking initiative aims to unite countries worldwide – including Africa, Europe, and North and South America – to explore various aspects of democracy, governance, and trust in the humanities and social sciences. With her extensive experience and unwavering commitment, Dr. Kirk is the perfect choice to evaluate international collaborations in this field. Her selection is a testament to her outstanding expertise and dedication to studying democracy, governance, and trust.
Think you know your professors; well, think again.
Did you know that CCPA has one of the most (if not the most – pretty sure we do) honored teaching faculties on campus? Faculty who’ve received more distinguished teaching awards than any other department at SMU?
September 2001 CCPA led a group of students, alumni, faculty, friends, and family to create a memorial of the events of September 11, 2001. The group placed an American flag on the Meadows Museum lawn to commemorate each of the 2,977 lives lost on that tragic day.
On this 20 year anniversary please take a moment to reflect on the events of 911 and how it changed so many.
