Save the date! SMU’s PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) is hosting its first meeting of the spring semester tomorrow, Monday, February 13, at 7 pm in ULEE 244. PRSSA will host a career development workshop for its members at this meeting, answering questions on all things internship, job search, and work-related. You won’t want to miss this one!
What to expect? Personal testimonials from PRSSA Executive Board Members on how they got their past internships, their experience, and what they learned. They will also advise sophomores and juniors when looking for that perfect summer internship, in addition to a Q&A at the end. Furthermore, exec. members will be sharing their internship experiences beyond just Public Relations. Internships they have had include fashion marketing in Los Angeles, political communication on Capitol Hill, and more!
Have a dream job you can’t stop thinking about? Dreaming of working for a big agency in New York or the PR Department of a professional sports team? PRSSA will also give a crash course on LinkedIn and Networking 101 to help make connections with those employers. Moreover, they will cover how to talk to reach out, how to talk to them, and more to secure your dream job or internship.
