SMU Meadows alumna and Director of the Dallas Art Fair Kelly Coppock Cornell ’12 (BFA, Art) is seeking organized and energetic internship candidates ready to take on various positions in the production of the Dallas Art Fair. The ideal candidate will excellent people skills and have the ability to problem‐solve in a high-paced environment. The Dallas Art Fair is a great way to gain exposure to the “behind the scenes” realm of the art world.
Responsibilities include:
Front desk management
- Ticket sales
- Ability to handle phone calls, emails, and online communication
- Must have basic knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook
Exhibitor management
- Organize and manage work orders for gallery spaces
- Supportive tasks for install and deinstall
Facilitate and manage events
- On‐site and off‐site
Courteously provides visitors with assistance, information, and directions as needed.
May assist in the coat check area as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Hours and Compensation:
This is a paid internship. The intern will be compensated at the rate of $15 per hour (rate may be negotiable, based on level of professional experience.) The Dallas Art Fair intern will be expected to work the week of the Fair, Monday, April 17 through Sunday, April 23, 2023. Hours are generally 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some evenings. Hours and scheduling will be flexible and based on a student’s current class schedule. If needed, the Meadows Office of Alumni and Career Success is also able to provide a letter for a student intern to share with their professors that will provide details about the student’s involvement in this meaningful career development opportunity.
