CCPA Leadership Changes Coming Soon

Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professor Dr. Sandy Duhé, the longest standing chair of CCPA and director of the Public Relations and Strategic Communication program, will step down at the end of the spring semester after 12 years of service across these two roles. After leading CCPA’s Communication, Culture, and Social Innovation program in London this summer, she will be on administrative leave for the 2024-25 academic year.

Temerlin Advertising Institute Executive-in-Residence Professor Gordon Law will take Dr. Duhé’s place as interim chair of CCPA for two years while a national search is conducted for a permanent replacement.

“Having the opportunity to lead CCPA has been the pinnacle of my career, and I’m excited to embark on what’s next,” says Dr. Duhé. During her year of leave, she plans to continue consulting, build a platform for Business for Communicators, and learn more about angel investing. She will return to the CCPA faculty in August 2025.

“Professor Gordon Law is the perfect match to lead CCPA,” Dr. Duhé adds. “His extensive professional and administrative experience along with his love of teaching will resonate well with students and faculty alike. I couldn’t be happier with his appointment to keep CCPA moving forward.”

Dr. Duhé’s other duties will be reassigned to two CCPA faculty members:

  • Professor Kim Lance will become director of and advisor for the Public Relations and Strategic Communication program, and
  • Professor Megan Heber will become director of CCPA graduate programs, lead fundraising efforts, and coordinate Advisory Board activities.

Dr. Duhé will remain director of Communication, Culture, and Social Innovation in London and organize the summer 2025 program during her leave.
