Finals are in full swing, and our almost never-ending study grind has begun leaving us with one question in all our heads: How am I going to escape this studying for at least a moment? Lucky for you, we have a solution, and that is movies. Movies can provide a great escape from daily life. However, in this case, what you need is to put on a mindless movie and maybe have a good laugh. This is where guilty pleasure movies come in. Yes, guilty pleasure movies are not good, but that is the point. Here is a list of the best guilty pleasure movies you should check out.

Grown Ups

Grown Ups is one of the star-studded guilty pleasure movies. The film stars Adam Sandler (the king of guilty pleasure comedies), David Spade, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider. These childhood friends reunite in their hometown to honor their deceased basketball coach. While the title suggests that it is more adult humor, the movie is more crude and immature, like a typical Sandler romp. The humor might be childish, but it still makes for a great guilty pleasure watch. You can stream Grown Ups right now on Netflix or rent on Amazon Prime Video.

Kazaam

Have you ever wanted to watch a movie with a rapping genie? Me neither; even with all-time NBA great Shaquille O’Neal, Kazaam still falls flat. Although it is not a great movie, it is pretty funny to see Shaquille O ‘Neal play a rapping genie, which is what makes this movie a must-watch guilty pleasure. You can watch Kazaam on Disney+ or rent on Amazon Prime Video.

American Pie: Beta House

It is necessary to watch a college movie while in college, and American Pie: Beta House is a guilty pleasure college movie. A spinoff of the America Pie series, Beta House has a pretty simple story; a group of college freshmen rushes a fraternity. The movie also depicts their college antics and even a rivalry with another fraternity on campus. This movie is a must-watch for any college student. You can rent this movie on Amazon Prime Video

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Paul Blart Mall Cop is the quintessential Thanksgiving and guilty pleasure movie. Making his second appearance on this list, Kevin James now takes the titular role of Paul Blart, a mall security guard. This movie provides many cringy yet laugh-out-loud moments, making it a great guilty pleasure watch. You can rent this movie on Amazon Prime Video.

The Ridiculous Six

This is my personal favorite guilty pleasure movie. The Ridiculous Six does not get much attention when it comes to guilty pleasure films. The Ridiculous Six depicts Adam Sandler assembling his brothers to find the gold to save their father’s life. The film depicts the group’s antics and wild adventures on their journey to find the gold. You can stream this movie on Netflix.

So, pick a break time and hand your exhausted mind over to a guilty pleasure movie for safekeeping. You’ll be all the better for it.
