Position Overview: We are in search of an exceptional communicator with outstanding writing chops, strategic thinking, and top-notch organizational skills to collaborate with FB Society’s Head of PR and Communication. As a Public Relations Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our brands, assisting in crafting compelling narratives, and enhancing our media presence. This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of public relations within the hospitality industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft written communication, including media materials, social media content, and press page content.
  • Collaborate with brand marketing leaders to identify creative story angles, draft timely and compelling copy, and pitch media outlets.
  • Assist in monitoring, tracking, and reporting media coverage.
  • Maintain PR calendars and provide support for monthly marketing initiatives.
  • Identify real-time opportunities and monitor industry trends.
  • Assist in event coordination.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a Journalism, Public Relations or Strategic Communications college program.
  • Ability to work up to 30 hours a week starting in June 2024.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen sense of what makes compelling news.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated exceptional creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a working knowledge of Meltwater and other public relations tools.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to HAVE FUN and a sense of humor is a must!
