Fun and Funky: Eye Statue

That’s right, there is a giant human eye that stands in the middle of downtown Dallas. What could be more fun and funky than that? This 30-foot sculpture is titled “Eye” and was constructed by Tony Tasset in 2013. Taking around a week and a half to complete, the statue is modeled after Tasset’s own eyeball and is meant to reflect pop culture, surveillance, knowledge, power, and the shared human experience of living. If you want to go see the giant eye for yourself, go to 1607 Main Street and check it out.

3. Museum of Memories

Fun and Funky: Museum of Memories

Relive your favorite childhood memories at the Museum of Memories located in Deep Ellum. Designed by Steffi Lynn, this art gallery contains multiple art installations and murals that reflect your nostalgic childhood memories including phrases across the gallery and yes, even being able to swim in a bowl of cereal. Even though the exhibit is around an hour-long experience, the memories are ever-lasting.
