DESCRIBE THE INTERNSHIP:

Job Description
The Dallas Mavericks is looking for a Social Media Intern who will be responsible for assisting the social team with numerous initiatives over the season.

• Paid internship. No other employee benefits and relocation expenses will not be covered.*

Length of Internship: January – May. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs) Hours per Week: 20 – 29 including some game nights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ideating and executing social media campaigns,
• Learning how to cover events on social as well as conduct media interviews,
• Staying on top of trends and pop culture,
• Keeping the content/communications calendars up to date
• Other essential duties, that assist with day-to-day operations

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a Jr. or 4-year college with a preferred concentration in Sports Marketing/Management, Business/Marketing, Communications, or Advertising
• If applying for college credit you must be able to provide proof that credit will be earned toward your course of study (from school/registrar).
• Working knowledge of the Dallas Mavericks and NBA.
• Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook. Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
• Must have strong writing and editing ability as well as excellent verbal communication.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize within a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to communicate and engage with fans with a customer-first attitude.
• Must be highly motivated, goal-oriented, and a self-starter.
• Professionally handle confidential information.
