The Meadows Museum offers currently enrolled SMU students opportunities to gain invaluable, on-the-job museum experience. They look for energetic, friendly, ready-to-learn SMU students to fill two types of positions, part-time and internships.
The Meadows Museum frequently needs part-time student help in areas such as the Box Office and Gift Shop, where customer service and retail experience are helpful. To see current openings, visit their website.
They also offer internships to give students an introduction to the museum profession. Internships provide students with the opportunity to work directly with the Meadows Museum’s staff and world-renowned collection of Spanish art.
2023-2024 Intership in Museum Education
The Meadows Museum Internship in Museum Education provides an SMU undergraduate student with a paid opportunity to join the Meadows Museum staff for ten hours a week of hands-on professional experience during the 2023/2024 academic year and is designed to support school and family initiatives within the museum. The intern will design and facilitate gallery activities, art-making projects, and other hands-on learning opportunities for existing programs such as Meadows Museum Family Saturdays and potential new family programs. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to work with Education staff to support the development of new programs and events for K12 and family audiences.
