ABOUT THE CENTER AND THE INSTITUTE

The Center for Global Health Impact (founded 2014) and the Institute for Leadership Impact(founded 2016) focus on improving health and educational outcomes for disadvantaged populations.

The Center for Global Health Impact aims to save lives in communities with poor access to healthcare throughout the world. To accomplish this, the Center promotes innovative approaches that bring effective and affordable health solutions to those who need them and in ways they will use them. The Center’s flagship project is the Virtual Reality Surgery Simulator, an interdisciplinary project in partnership with a team of researchers at universities around the globe. The goal of this project is to develop virtual reality medical simulation software that can be used to expedite surgical training in low- and middle-income countries.

The Institute for Leadership Impact empowers emerging and established leaders in education and health to develop the skills needed to be more effective in leading organizations and solving real-world problems. The Institute’s flagship project is the District Leadership Fellows program.  This program brings together executive district leaders from school districts to build their leadership skills and to collaborate to create positive change in their districts.

The Center and the Institute are headquartered in Suite 135 of Annette Caldwell Simmons Hall. Dr. Eric G.
