The Opportunity:  RCI Theatricals will participate in The Theatre Leadership Projection (“TTLP”) fellowship program available in general management.  The goal of this program is to train individuals to become a General Manager in the commercial theater.

Length of Training Program:  Two-years full-time at RCI Theatricals.

Position:  General Management TTLP Fellow 

This is a fellowship opportunity to support BIPOC leadership in key theatrical management roles across Broadway! The person in this position would support and work closely with the General Manager of various Broadway and Touring theatrical productions managed by RCI Theatricals.  RCI Theatricals thrives on the energy and contributed ideas, experiences, and skill sets of its staff. The ideal candidate will be encouraged to bring their full self to the position, and to think creatively about how they are uniquely positioned to advance the General Management team. Given the nature of General Management roles, we rely on team members who work well independently and as a group as needs dictate.  The environment is fast-paced, creative, and highly collaborative.  

Salary: $60,000/year 

Training:

  • Onboarding by General Manager, who will also serve as the primary mentor for the duration of the fellowship.
  • Attendance at rehearsals, planning meetings, production meetings and other opportunities to serve and participate in the ongoing producing activities of an active member of the general management team in a running show.  Gain experience with contract negotiations, union agreements, contract drafting, budgeting, payroll, royalties, theater settlements, bonds, invoices/Quickbooks, online banking, taxes, accounting/financial reporting.
  • Bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with mentor regarding current activities and larger industry questions.
  • Networking opportunities at opening nights, industry events, marketing and ad meetings, producer and creative meetings.

Requirements:

  • Be a US citizen, US national, US permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card) or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA) at the time of application
  • Be members of an underrepresented community within the theater community
  • Reside in NY state during the duration of the fellowship
  • Demonstrate an interest in pursuing commercial theatre (other than acting) as a career option

A successful candidate will have:

  • Great attention to detail, proactive, self-motivated and a passion for learning;
  • Strong verbal communication, writing, editing and proofreading skills. Ability to project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone;
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and responsibility;
  • Ability to assess and manage multiple competing priorities and work well under pressure; Excellent time management, problem solving and analytical skills; Ability to complete multiple projects successfully;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexible character and a great sense of humor.
