Engage Dallas is a place-baced community engagement initiative via SMU’s Residential Commons to address community needs focusing on South and West Dallas. The initiative is a long-term, university-wide commitment led by students to partner with local residents, organizations, and other leaders to positively impact the community. There is equal emphasis on campus and community impact stemming from the initiative.
Engage Dallas is excited to announce the return of the Engage Dallas paid internship program for Summer 2023. The Engage Dallas Internship Program partners with our Engage Dallas community organizations to provide internship opportunities with non-profit organizations. Internship sponsors include After8toEducate, Brother Bills Helping Hands, Crowned Scholars, and others! Focus areas range from marketing, project management, curriculum development, non-profit leadership, and more!
Who can apply? Anyone! All majors, class years, and levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
What does the application consist of? Students apply directly to the Internship program rather than a specific internship. The application will consist of a resume, cover letter, and a brief questionnaire so that we can best match students to an internship opportunity.
How long is the internship? The “typical” internship experience will be ten weeks, June 5th – August 11th. Most internships are 15 hours per week.
What is the pay? $15.00 an hour.
The priority deadline for applications is February 28th. Check out this quick recap of an internship experience from last summer. Applications can be submitted here.
