We are looking for individuals who are passionate about communications, eager to learn, and are as committed to doing great work as we are. The JWA experience provides the opportunity to grow personally and professionally through exposure to client service and the inner workings of a Dallas-bassed communications firm. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of lifestyle + start-up public relations. We are looking for individuals who are driven, creative, and hard-working with excellent communication skills.

As part of our team, the PR Intern will assist in the creation and dissemination of news and announcements to the media, public, and other internal and external stakeholders through press releases, blog posts, and social media. This support will include researching industry topics, writing, editing, and creative thinking in the creation of a wide variety of targeted messages.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have completed at least their junior year of college and will be available part-time.

Basic job requirements for interns include excellent written and oral communications skills, an innate curiosity, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Interns have the opportunity to assist with media campaigns, developing media materials, conducting account research, and other account-related activities. All candidates must also exhibit a desire and motivation to learn and the ability to work as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Researching and writing
  • Media tracking
  • Managing CSR databases
  • Tracking and monitoring social channels and engagements
  • Contributing to creative brainstorms and strategy building
  • Track non-billable and client billable time daily
  • General administrative work

Desired Skills and Experience:

Required

  • Must be working toward a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, English, or related course of study
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with basic social media tools such as TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WordPress

Preferred

  • Experience writing press releases and other public communications
  • Experience interpreting data and creating graphs
  • Experience using social media for business (e.g. working knowledge of Hootsuite)
  • Knowledge of AP style of writing
  • Experience using multimedia production and design packages (e.g. canva, prezi)
